Learning Outcomes

To train Dental Students so that they evolve into competent graduates capable of functioning in realistic practice settings. The main outcome can be observed in the form of:

• Professionalism: The knowledge, skill and attitude/behavior required to practice in an ethical and appropriate way, putting patients needs first and promoting confidence in the dental team
• Clinical Skills: Skills required to deliver direct care (where the individual under training has an interaction with the patient) which involve but are not limited to obtaining medical history, performing appropriate physical examination, and organizing investigations and interpretation of their result.
• Communication and interpersonal skills: The skills involved in communicating effectively with patients, their families and associates and with other health professionals involved in their care.
• Management and leadership skills: Skills and knowledge required to work effectively as a team, manage own time and resources and contribute to a professional practice.
