Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies is renowned for its excellence in research and education. With great pleasure we announce the launch of Faculty of Behavioral & Social Science with commitment to contribute to the university mission by supporting the pursuit of excellence in the field of behavior and social science.

At FBSS, we not only provide an intellectual environment for our students to acquire knowledge and discuss some of the important issues in behavior and social science, but also to create solutions and new knowledge in the field pertinent domain as well as life long learning perspectives.

Students at FBSS come from a diverse fields, including psychology, economics, sociolgy, and lifelong learning from all stages of life, making it a varied environment. Accordingly the faculty hosts the Department of Applied Psychology, the Department of Economics and the Department of Social and Political Studies.

At FBSS we follow a hybrid and innovative teaching pedagogy through live field projects, workshops, action research, simulations, role-playing, case studies, seminars, industry interface and guest lectures from both national and international experts aiming at holistic development of students. We provide excellent facilities to our students including a modern contemporary campus and state-of-the-art library offering wide variety of journals, databases, books.

The Department of Applied Psychology provides experiential learning platform with state-of-the-art Human Lab, where students explore various avenues of applied psychology such as Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Educational Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology, Cultural Psychology, Testing and Assessment, Personality and Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology.

The Department of Economic:  A degree in economics from MRIIRS will open the door to various career pathways for the students. The department offers some Unique Courses apart from core such as Data Analysis through Computer (Excel and SPSS), Application of Statistical Software (R, LIMPED, STATA and E-Views), Environment & Resource Economics, Behavioural Economics, Public Budget & Fiscal Policy in India, Advanced Econometrics including Time series analysis and Economics of Health and Education etc. Students are encouraged to apply for various internships or scholarship opportunities workshops and training programmes. Apart from there is ECOnomads, the economics society  and Eco-Bizz  which is student-led scholarly magazine.

The Department of Social and Political studies offer Political Science Program, Liberal Arts Program Sociology Program , Master of Public Policy and Administration and PhD in Social Work.

BA Political Science program provides students an opportunity to explore different dimensions of political science like theory and practice of politics and description and analysis of political system and political behaviour and prepares the students with a skill set of understanding social and political systems which can be useful for them for higher studies and in any segment of employment.

The undergraduate program in Liberal Arts is designed to empower students for dealing with complexity and diversity in rapidly changing society. The study of liberal arts courses would provide students with broad knowledge of the wider world with a trans and multidisciplinary perspective covering humanities, social and natural sciences, culture and society as well as in-depth lesson in their specific areas of interest. Such a liberal, holistic approach of education is expected to help students develop their sense of social responsibility with strong and transferable intellectual capacities involving communication and professional skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and demonstrated aptitude to apply critical thinking in the real-world scenario in any future domains of their learning progression or career.

Sociology as a discipline deal with the study of human society and how people live and interact with each other in society. It enables the student to view the social structure and practices as a whole, making it one of the most sought-after courses by students and potential employers.

The Master of Arts in Public Policy program enables students to perform viably in complex policy environment. The interdisciplinary educational program with an exposure to real life field projects, internships empowers students to address contemporary political, economic and social issues in a cognizant and comprehensive manner

At FBSS we have the Centre for Economic Policy Studies which helps in inculcating research and analytical skills, and encourages interdisciplinary research among students and faculties. It provides hands on experience on courses such as Data Analysis through Computer & Application of Statistical Software.

It’s worth noting that an FBSS degree could lead to exciting careers involving research and intellectual advancement. Students’ contributions are not limited to behavioral practices; they also include governance economics and social work, which includes behavioral economics. At FBSS we have a fantastic team of knowledgeable and experienced teachers in carrying out this purpose.
