B.COM(HONS.) :

Q. Do you have any course in commerce?
Ans. Yes, we have one Under Graduate courses in commerce namely, B.Com(Hons).

Question: Can Science stream and Humanities students pursue a B.Com(Hons.) course?

Answer: Yes, it is possible for a science or humanities stream student to pursue a B.Com(Hons.) course.

Q. Is Mathematics is mandatory subject in grade XII for admission in BCom(Hons.)?
Ans. No mathematics is not mandatory to take admission in BCom(Hons.).

Q. What is the minimum eligibility criteria for B.Com(Hons)?

Answer: The minimum eligibility criteria for any B.Com course is to have 50% marks in class 12 board examination from a recognized board of education, such as CBSE, ICSE, State Education Boards or equivalent boards.

Q. Is it possible to pursue an MBA degree after B.Com(Hons.)?

Answer: Yes, pursuing an MBA degree after graduating from one of the B.Com courses is possible. However, many MBA Colleges in India take admissions to the course based on the scores obtained in one of the MBA entrance exams, viz. CAT, CMAT, MAT, XAT, NMAT, ATMA, etc.

Q. Should I pursue B.Com (Hons.) or CA?

Answer: Over the years, it has been a trend to see CA aspirants pursue B.Com (Hons.) while also attempting to clear CA exams as well. In India, it is also possible to pursue CA or Chartered Accountancy after completing your B.Com(Hons.) course as well. Those who do have a v

alid bachelor’s or master’s degree will be able to get direct entry to CA.

Q. What are the future prospects of B.Com(Hons.) in terms of higher education?

Answer: After completing your B.Com(Hons.), a host of higher education programmes will be open for you, especially in the field of commerce, management and law. For those interested in expanding their career options, looking into postgraduate courses in management and law are the areas to delve deeper into.

For instance, pursue an MBA after completing your B.Com will help you land managerial positions in different sectors, meanwhile, pursuing LLB after B.Com(Hons.) will help you pursue a career path as a Corporate Lawyer.

Meanwhile, if you choose to pursue an M.Com after your B.Com(Hons.), a set of new career options lie wide open for you, especially in the field of research and education. As after graduating from an M.Com degree, students will be able to attempt UGC NET, which qualifies them for Junior Research Fellowship or work as a professor or assistant professor in one of the commerce colleges in the country.

B.Com (Hons) with ACCA

Q. What is B.Com(Hons) with ACCA Certification?

Answer: The B Com (Hons) with ACCA is a semester pattern based elite program that offers 2 exits to students. Hosting the pre-requisites of the New Education Policy, it offers the following attributes: 100% ACCA Subject Integration with the program. 9 ACCA Subject Exemption out of 13 subjects*.

B.Com (Hons) with ACCA certification is a 3-4 undergraduate programme where after 3 years B.Com (Hons) semesters gets over and one year is for ACCA completion assistance. B.Com (Hons) with ACCA helps the candidate to prepare well as lot of syllabus is already mapped with the degree subjects and not requires much of additional training and coaching.

Q. How can I study B.Com (Hons) with ACCA Certification?

Answer: Student undertaking B.Com (Hons.) with ACCA courses will have Thirteen ACCA papers integrated within the program. Students need to complete thirteen papers for an ACCA qualification. Nine papers are exempted in ACCA knowledge and skills modules*. The student can write the ACCA Four Professional Level papers from the second year. B.Com (Hons) with ACCA helps the students finish ACCA Professional qualification without much additional training since the curriculum is already integrated or embedded in the B.Com (Hons) syllabus. ACCA is an internationally recognized certification.

Q. What are the areas of specialization in B.Com (Hons) with ACCA?

Answer: Students studying B.Com (Hons) with ACCA get to study all the aspects essential for commerce and business, ranging from accounting, taxation, marketing, management, reporting, law, government compliances along with regular B.Com subjects. B.Com (Hons) with ACCA candidates get job in areas of audit and assurance, business development, business restructuring, commercial finance, compliance and risk, consulting and advisory, corporate and business accounting, corporate finance etc.

Q. Why should I pursue ACCA certification?

Ans. Yes, we have one PG course in commerce namely, Master in Commerce.

Q. Are there qualified faculty members available to teach M.Com at MRIIRS?
Ans. Yes, we have good number of qualified faculty members in the Department to teach M.Com subjects as per curriculum

Q. Is there any scope to Ph.D after M.Com?
Ans. Yes, we offer Ph.D Programme in various specializations in Commerce.

Q. Whether sufficient reference books are available in Library?
Ans. The Manav Rachna Library is an invaluable resource for students, researchers and faculties of commerce.

Ans. There is a dedicated unit of department namely Corporate Resource Centre (CRC), which extends all type of help in inviting the industries and arranging campus placements for the students

Q. How and where does the Institution provide placement to the students?
Ans. Placement Assistance: A separate centre (Corporate Resource Centre) is established to facilitate the placement activities and provide opportunities to the students at the campus.

Apart from this, our courses are designed in collaboration with industries in a manner so as to facilitate the placement of our students who successfully complete the course.
