For 1-Year programme: Minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in 4-Year B.Sc. with Hons./Hons. with Research in any discipline from a recognized University any subject related to Life Sciences |
*As per NEP 2020, the student admitted in 2-Year PG programme shall have the option to exit after 1-Year with award of PG Diploma by earning minimum required credits as specified in the curriculum of respective programme.
A student with 4-year UG Hons. / Hons. with Research can seek admission directly in 2nd Year of PG programme with additional Bridge Course wherever required.
Course Structure
1st Semester: Cell & Molecular Biology, Microbial Physiology & Genetics, Bio-molecules, Bio-analytical Techniques, Biostatistics, Cell & Molecular Biology Lab, Microbiology & Analytical Lab
2nd Semester: Genetic Engineering, Bioprocess Technology, Immunology, Bioinformatics & Computational Biology, Elective – I, Bioinformatics & Computational Biology Lab, Genetic Engg. & Immunology Lab
3rd Semester: Animal Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Environment Biotechnology, Food & Enzyme Biotechnology, Elective – II, Cell & Tissue Culture Lab, Environment & Enzyme Biotechnology Lab
4th Semester: Seminar & Dissertation

Employment opportunities are available in the specialized fields of biotechnology viz. Stem Cell Technology, Biomedical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostics, Global Biotech Parks (DBT), Biotech Research Incubator Institutions, Food Corporation of India, Biotechnology Management, IT sector, Banking Sector and Armed forces (Biological Warfare). Engineering Colleges and Technical Universities also offer job opportunities. Students can also go for higher studies and start their own ventures.
