Department of Humanities & Management (FET)

The department of Humanities and Management was founded with the vision to develop all round personality through better communication skills, soft skills development, suitable managerial inputs & developing an entrepreneurial mindset of all B.Tech students in the Faculty of Engineering & technology at MRIIRS. As the name suggests, the department has two broad areas to cover – “Humanities” & “Management”. In the area of Humanities, the Department covers subjects like written & spoken English, Professional Communication, Aptitude Development, Personality Development & overall communication skills. In the area of Management, the department covers Management subjects like Fundamentals of Management, Industrial Management, Operations Management, Entrepreneurship Management & Development & a few optional management related subjects in different streams of B.Tech students.

The department organizes faculty development programmes & extra-curricular activities, in addition to lectures and interactive sessions with eminent national and international scholars and writers. Through its curricular and extra-curricular activities, the Department is able to nurture the talents of students. The Department publishes an annual magazine “Zephyr” to provide a platform to students & faculty team members to give vent to their creative fervor.

Department runs two centers, namely – Soft Skills Development Centre (SSDC) & Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) for soft skills & entrepreneurial development of students at the campus. For Aptitude & Soft Skills development, we engage the services of a team of aptitude & Soft Skills trainers from different specialized companies. For Entrepreneurship Development, we are running an in-house Entrepreneurship Development Centre, which carries out various entrepreneurial activities with active participation by student E-leaders & volunteers. The department also provides active support towards training & placement activities at the campus. We also have a state of art Language Lab with suitable software and audio-visual aids for helping students to develop their communication skills for personality development & better employability.
