New Initiatives towards Teaching & Learning MOOCs
Self-learning is one of the important part of student’s overall growth in the organization. It helps to keep them to compete with the updated dynamic world outside the institute. It not only helps them to acquire knowledge of some advanced topics and courses related to their field but also improves their overall personality. Students are motivated to attend Webinars/Seminars, Technical lectures, Conferences, Workshops and Training in their related interest areas. Many digital resources are also there in the form of e-books and e-journals available with the library and on website that is provided with remote access for better accessibility for the students. SWAYAM MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) is offered by UGC in self learning mode through online portal.
The MOOC courses recommended for all semesters of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering. Students may be of any domain related such as Machine Design, Manufacturing and Production Technology, CAD/CAM, Robotics, Thermal Engineering, Industrial Engineering. The students are also encouraged to take up MOOC courses of generic nature such as Principles of Human Resource Management; Foundation course in Managerial Economics; Project Management; Health Research Fundamentals; Enhancing soft skills and Personality; Speaking Effectively.
