Bacteriocin

Drug to cure cancer

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer worldwide. Globally, there are 2.2 million cases of lung cancer, whereas death cases are 1.8 million In India, there are 51 lakh cases and death cases are approximately 63000. There are
various types of lung cancer, like adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and large cell carcinoma. Although there are many treatments available like chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, etc., they do not show a high efficacy
rate, and there are so many side effects that they can damage kidneys and other nearby cells and tissues. By knowing the problem, we are introducing the solution through our startup, which is based on a biomolecule known as bacteriocin,
which is a ribosomally synthesized microbial peptide produced by bacteria we are planning to use this antimicrobial agent to treat lung cancer; this is very potent for designing safer and better therapies for mankind, we have chosen
this antimicrobial because it is peculiar for their action and also there are two types of the mechanism through which they can affect the bacteria either by creating pores in the cell wall or degrading the DNA with the help of enzyme
DNase. We have done a market survey in which we find out our competitors. We have targeted top 14 companies according to price and efficacy rate. We are targeting one drug, pembrolizumab, with a 75% overall response rate and is highly
expensive and not easy to afford for a middle-class family. The proposed drug is an antimicrobial drug that will be very potent without any resistance issues.
