Manav Rachna International University organizes Alumni Meet with great zeal and enthusiasm

February 18, 2015: Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) organised its Alumni Meet recently at the MRIU campus in Faridabad.

The Alumni of FET have made a mark wherever they chose to serve and have reached top positions in their specialized areas. The objective of this meet was to provide a link between the past and the present. Vice Chancellor Dr. N. C. Wadhwa, IAS (Retd.); Dr. M. K. Soni, Executive Director and Dean, FET; Dr. Naresh Grover, Director, FET; Dr. I. K. Kilam, Dean, Students Welfare; Dr. S. S. Tyagi, Professor and Head, Deptt. of CSE, FET & President, Alumni Association; Dr. R. S. Tarnacha, Professor and Head, Deptt. of Aeronautical Engineering; Dr. B. K. Singh, Professor and Head, Deptt. of Civil Engineering were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.

While welcoming the audience, Dr. S. S. Tyagi gave a brief on the MRIU Alumni Association. Dr. Naresh Grover presented a detailed account of the exemplary achievements of MRIU over the past few years and invited all alumni to visit the state-of-art facilities including the Central Library, Manav Rachna Innovation & Incubation Centre, and Radio Manav Rachna.

Dr. M. K. Soni expressed great pride in his esteemed alumni and wished them all the success in forging new frontiers in their chosen fields. Dr. N. C. Wadhwa encouraged the graduates to work responsibly for the society and to never compromise on ethics and moral values. After the address by Senior Functionaries of the University, this occasion also realized the launch of fully-featured MRIU Alumni Website, which shall offer quick and easy access to information essential to foster Institute-alumni relationships and enable bonding with the batch-mates.

The alumni present on this occasion recollected their experiences of stay in the campus, the memorable moments they shared with the faculty, expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the faculty members and the University. They also conveyed their profound faith for the University. Amongst the distinguished attendees at the alumni meet were the graduates currently employed at leading IT companies namely TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Nokia, Hero, Ernst and Young, Apollo etc.
After the informal introductions of the Alumni, a brief discussion of Industry-Institute Interface followed. As the event progressed, the batch-mates and friends started to mingle with each other. Various cultural dance and song performances were orchestrated, to which the Alumni from across the batches took pleasure in and had a merry time singing, and dancing. College Band ‘Sufi Aghaz’ played their renowned songs. Various fun activities such as Tug of War, Tambola, Musical Chair etc. were also held, where the winners were awarded with gift hampers.
