National Conference on Advances in Power and Control in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd organized at MRIU

A National Conference on ‘Advances in Power and Control’ was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd .

The conference was inaugurated by Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU; Dr M.K. Soni, Executive Director & Dean, FET, MRIU; Dr Abdul Quaiyum Ansari, Professor, Electrical Department, Jamia Milia Islamia University; Mr. Pradeep Bisht of Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd; Dr S.K. Gupta, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, DCRUST, Murthal; Dr Anita Khosla, HOD, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), FET, MRIU  and other dignitaries.

Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU also highlighted the challenge faced by the electric power industry in meeting the ever increasing load demand with high reliability and minimum transmission expenditure. He motivated the students, participants and the faculty members to foster new advances in the power and energy sector.

Dr M.K. Soni, ED & Dean, FET-MRIU spoke about the need to integrate renewable energy sources with the conventional sources reliably and economically.

Dr Abdul Quaiyum Ansari, Professor, Electrical Department, Jamia Millia Islamia University delivered an interactive lecture on ‘From Fuzzy Control to Neutrosophic Control – A paradigm shift in Control Engineering’. The next session commenced with the key note address of Dr S.K. Gupta, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, DCRUST, Murthal. His topic of presentation was ‘Restructuring of Electric Power System’ which further stimulated interest in the audience.

Dr Anita Khosla, Head of the Department, EEE, MRIU, in her inaugural addressed focused on the importance of advancements in power, energy and control. This was followed by an exhaustive presentation about the upcoming technologies and devices by keynote speakers from Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd – Mr Devendra Singh and Mr Pradeep Bisht.

Out of the total 40 papers, 24 papers were shortlisted and presented by faculty and students of various institutes. The Session Chair were Dr Leena G and Dr Geeta Nijhawan.
