Expert Talk -Ansys HFSS Solver capabilities and Design Antenna Demonstration with latest version of 2023R1

Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Faculty of Engineering &Technology, MRIIRS, held an expert talk for the students of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department on 07.04.2023. The resource person for the Session was Mr. Shashi Kumar, Sr. RF & Antenna Design Engineer, Ansys. The total number of registrations were 35 out of which 33 students attended the session.

The talk started with the introduction of Ansys HFSS solver platform for antenna design. The Expert gave exposure to students about the variety of RF components available, their specific applications, frequency range, and performance requirements.

The design of microstrip lines and transmission lines, are essential for RF signal routing and impedance matching. Role of RF Components, Passive components, such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, and transmission lines, serve as the building blocks of RF circuit designing. Sir, also explained the evaluation of various impedance matching, signal filtering, and power division techniques and methods. Proper selection and integration of these components is also crucial in achieving desired RF circuit characteristics, including bandwidth, linearity, and impedance matching.

Sir emphasized that components, such as filters and baluns, are crucial for RF signal processing and these components ensure signal purity by rejecting unwanted frequencies and minimizing interference.

From the talk, students will be able to understand about effective RF design and  development and will have a deep understanding of the active and passive components.
