Export Awareness Seminar – Niryat Bandhu and International Business Opportunities
EEPC INDIA and DGFT, Govt of India organized an informative seminar ‘Export Awareness Program- Niryat Bandhu Scheme and International Business Opportunities’ on 18 February, 2016 at Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI). The aim of the programme was to sensitize students towards export awareness and encourage them to take on exports as a viable option and calling. The Seminar was graced by Dr Amiya Chandra, Joint DGFT, CLA, Govt. of India, as Chief Guest, Dr Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI and VC, Manav Rachna University (MRU); Mr. Rakesh Suraj, Regional Director, EEPC India; Mr. Ravi Vasudev, Chairman, Chamber of Indian Overseas Entrepreneurs, Faridabad and President, Haryana Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Faridabad (NCR Chapter); Dr Suresh Bedi, Dean, FCBS, Manav Rachna International University; Dr Amit Seth, Professor Director-Faculty of Management & Humanities, Manav Rachna University, among others.
Addressing the students and entrepreneurs attending the Seminar, Dr Amiya Chandra, Joint DGFT, CLA, Govt. of India, discussed the prospects and problems of exports in different markets and to access the business potential so as to flourish in the export market. He urged the students to develop a passion for exports and devote all their energies towards the realization of their dreams. Dr Amiya Chandra further said, “It’s time to create Image and lay stress on quality. “. He extorted the industry and more specifically the MSME sector that the time was opportune to expand exports by inducting innovation, bring in best global practices, respond to the changing global demands, structure timely deliveries and improve quality with best prices. With the Chinese economy showing signs of fatigue after a long run, India is well placed to take over this position.
Mr. Rakesh Suraj, Regional Director, EEPC India shared his experience of business opportunities available globally for Indian engineering industry. Role of EEPC in handholding the engineering industry enabling them to expand their business beyond borders, activities and various benefits provided by EEPC to Indian engineering exporters. Incidentally, EEPC has the mandate to organize the Niryat Bandhu programs all over India for the engineering industry. The prime objective is to motivate and encourage the entrepreneurs to start exporting as well as handholding them at every stage so that they do business beyond borders. Mr. Ravi Vasudev, Chairman, Chamber of Indian Overseas Entrepreneurs, Faridabad and President, Haryana Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Faridabad (NCR Chapter) addressed the students saying that the seminar was an ideal platform for them to receive mentoring support and guidance from the stalwarts in the field and help them in fulfillment of their vision and goal.
Speaking to the gathering, Dr Suresh Bedi, Dean, FCBS, MRIU said, “Export and import are the channels through which an economy can get connected to the rest of the world.” He also pointed out that India needs to improve upon its export potential and talked about the strength of the industry of Faridabad and the importance of MSMEs in Indian economy.
About the The Niryat Bandhu scheme: This Scheme is reinforced under the trade facilitation and ease of doing business measures in the New Foreign Trade Policy (2015-20). The scheme aims to promote potential exporters by training them on the nitty-gritty of foreign trade through counseling and outreach programmes. The scheme also acknowledges the importance of the medium and small scale enterprises (MSME) in India’s manufacturing sector in terms of output and employment. Accordingly a list of MSME clusters have been identified under the scheme based on their export potential and density of industries for focused interventions to boost their exports. 
EEPC India is the premier trade and investment promotion organization in India which is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and caters to the Indian engineering sector. As an advisory body, it actively contributes to the policies of Government of India and acts as an interface between the engineering industry and the Government.
