Expert Talk on ‘Agile Computing using Scrum’
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, FET organized an Expert Talk on ‘Agile Computing using Scrum’, as part of the series of International Events to be conducted by the Department to commemorate the Silver Jubilee Year of the University. The speaker of the event was Ms. Megha Nanda, an acclaimed application/Delivery Manager at VicTrack, Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Supriya P. Panda, Professor, and Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering introduced the speaker and welcomed her for the talk. Dr. Supriya P. Panda emphasized the importance of Agile Computing along with the usage of scrum in today’s ever-changing and ever-demanding industrial scenario. The session was coordinated by Ms. Ranjeeta Mittal and Dr. Monika Shah, AP, CSE Department.
Ms. Megha Nanda discussed Agile technology in detail, the components involved, and their importance in the current industry scenario. The highlight of the talk was a 25-30 minutes role-play session as a simulation, where students from the 5th and 3rd semesters, along with Ms. Megha participated in a simulation of the Scrum master-actor/client-service concept.
The lecture proved to be of great benefit to the participants. The students, especially, got a very clear understanding of the concepts of Agile and how Scrum is useful in the current times. Ms. Megha encouraged the participants to explore new ideas and equip themselves with the latest developments in the industry.
