MoU between MRIU and Gerlev Institute of Physical education, Denmark

The MoU between Manav Rachna International University and Gerlev Institute of Physical education and Sports Academy, Denmark, enhances contribution of the two Institutions towards International understanding and cooperation between Denmark and India
– The Gerlev Institute of Physical education and Sports Academy, Denmark was represented by Dr. Finn Berggerlv, President, Gerlev Institute of Physical Education and Sports Academy while Dr Prashant Bhalla, President Manav Rachna Educational Institutions did the honors on behalf of MRIU.
– Both Gerlev Institute of Physical education and Sports Academy and MRIU agreed to share a commitment to high quality education in health, sports and therapies and nutrition. Joint efforts will also be undertaken to promote Physical activity and health of the school children
Manav Rachna International University has always been a forerunner in promoting its students to newer frontiers of learning. A step in this direction was taken up by Faculty of Applied Science (FAS), Manav Rachna International University. A MoU was signed between Gerlev Institute of Physical education and Sports Academy, Denmark and MRIU. The Gerlev Institute of Physical education and Sports Academy, Denmark was represented by Dr. Finn Berggerlv, President, Gerlev Institute of Physical Education and Sports Academy while Dr Prashant Bhalla, President Manav Rachna Educational Institutions did the honors on behalf of MRIU.
IMG_5974Both Gerlev Institute of Physical education and Sports Academy and MRIU agreed to share a commitment towards high quality education in health, sports, therapies and nutrition. Joint efforts will also be undertaken to promote physical activity and health of the school children. Speaking on the MOU, Dr Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions said, “Manav Rachna International University will be able to give students unique learning opportunities and experiences in short term and long term programs being offered by Gerlev Institute in Denmark. Scholarships from the institution are also on the anvil. The two premier Institutes will participate in joint seminars, workshops and publication activities. The mutual agreement will enhance the contribution of the two Institutions towards International understanding and cooperation between Denmark and India. “
Dr Finn shared the policies of Gerlev Academy and work profile while interacting with Faculty of Applied Science and Centre of Excellence and Sports Science and Rehabilitation. While interacting with Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice-Chancellor, MRIU, the two agreed to conduct mutual research for the benefit of society at large.
Dr Finn also addressed a gathering of FAS students and Faculty on the topic ‘Active Living—the Challenge for the Young Ones’ in which he talked about the need for physical activity and sports as a tool for a better society. He stated further, “Gerlev Academy is walking the talk and finding ways to stratgise on health promotion. Given MRIU’s impressive sports legacy, both the institutions are on common ground.”
Dr Finn also quoted WHO guidelines on health for complete, social, physical and mental wellbeing. His final verdict: “We need to have a playful approach in the learning environment and incorporate Active Living as a way of life which integrates physical activities in the young person’s daily routines.”
