Expert Lecture on Industrial Applications of Drone Technology in association with Drone Imaging Information Service of Haryana Limited
Department of Aeronautical Engineering, MRIIRS organized “Expert Lecture on Industrial Applications of Drone Technology” for the faculty members and students on March 17, 2023. Expert lecture was organized with the following broad objectives:
- To introduce the wide range of applications of Drone technology
- To provide an overview of DGCA Drone Rule 2021
- To provide details regarding the futuristic aspects of drone technology
Department of Aeronautical Engineering conducted an expert lecture on “Industrial Applications of Drone Technology” on 17.03.2023 in CG-04 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. A total of 39 Students from departments of Aeronautical, Automobile, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Engineering, ECE, EEE and FCA attended this event. Mr. Piyush A Shori and Mr. Manish Awana, Drone Pilots, DRIISHYA (Drone Imaging Information Service of Haryana Limited) were the resource persons, who are also the Alumni of Aeronautical Engineering department (2017-2021).
Mr. Piyush A Shori, explained the importance of Drones as an Emerging Technology in India. He further elaborated that Drone Industry have a huge potential for Exponential growth in upcoming years. Mr. Piyush gave a detailed idea about how drones are being used in different industries. He explained how drones can be used in crop monitoring, SAR and Surveillance. Audience were introduced to UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) and DGCA rules and regulations which was introduced in 2021.
Mr. Manish Awana, Introduced Different types of drones which are being used in DRIISHYA. He given an Insight about different navigation systems, GPS, GNSS, GLONASS. Students were also introduced to Digital Surface Model (DSM) and Digital Terrain Relief Model (DTM) which are high end GIS imaging techniques.
