MRIU celebrates International Yoga Day on a Grand Scale with Yoga and Meditation session for harmonizing mind, body and soul

The session was held in collaboration with Sports, Physical Education Fitness & Leisure Skills Council to promote overall wellness among the Manav Rachna fraternity.

International Yoga Day is celebrated the world over to draw people’s attention to the holistic PIC 2- International Yoga Daybenefits of yoga. Manav Rachna International University celebrated International Yoga Day in collaboration with Sports, Physical Education Fitness & Leisure Skills Council at the campus here today to bring together Faculty, Staff and Students to spend a day for health, away from the rigors of everyday routine.

Dr N C Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU who was the Chief Guest at the event addressed the participants, saying, “On this auspicious International Yoga Day, I welcome all the participants to the celebration. This is one of the most effective forms of exercises for relaxing minds and bodies. What’s more,yoga cuts across all age groups and is a great panacea for all diseases.”

PIC 1- International Yoga DayThe event was being celebrated in MRIU on a grand scale with the main event being conducted at Sector 12, Faridabad. The Yoga Session at MRIU was conducted by Dr Shobha Srivastava, Deputy Registrar FET, MRIU, as she guided the gathering through the paces of yogic asanas and movements such as Kadam Taal, Deep Breathing, Neck, Body and Ankle Rotation, Trikon Aasana and Brahmiri (for better voice cordination). She urged Manavites to make every day International Yoga Day by harmonizing the mind, body and soul so that life becomes a celebration.
