MRIU signs MoU with R Systems International Limited, Noida

Manav Rachna International University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with R Systems International Limited, Noida to enrich the technical education process and jointly work on industrial projects

11 September, 2015: In a bid to bridge the academia-industry gap, Manav Rachna International University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with R Systems International Limited, Noida today. The aim is to make the technical education process rich and sound and jointly work on industrial projects.  Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) is at the forefront of this industry-academia partnership.

The MOU will have several positive spin offs, most notably it would enhance the quality of the educational experience of students and the faculty members. R Systems International Limited will get technical workforce to work on the projects. R Systems International Ltd will provide live case studies, research based projects to Manav Rachna International University.

The University, for its part, will form a team of core faculty members with different area of specializations to undertake case studies, research based projects provided by R Systems International Ltd.

The MOU signing ceremony which had Lt Gen. (Retd) Baldev Singh, President, R Systems International Ltd and Dr Amit Bhalla, Vice President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI), as Chief Guests was also attended by other senior dignitaries such as Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU; Dr V.K. Mahna, Pro-Vice Chancellor, MRIU; Mr Avirag Jain, Executive Vice President, R Systems International Ltd; Mr N.K. Garg, Vice President, R Systems International Ltd; students and faculty members.

In his special address, Dr. N.C Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU, expressed his gratitude to R Systems International Ltd in formalizing the collaboration. He also talked at length about the industry-academia relationship as “a universal phenomenon owing to fast changing technologies across the globe.” Dr N.C. Wadhwa also mentioned, “A healthy exchange of ideas between academia and industry will be of mutual benefit and is an absolute must for a robust, knowledge driven economy.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amit Bhalla, Vice President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, said, “There has been a lot of change in the mindsets of the academia and industry. Integrating the gap between the two is the need of the hour.” He added: “Technology has advanced by leaps and bounds. Since educational institutions are the hub of ideas, let us listen to our students and see how we can give shape to their thoughts and suggestions. After all, it is ideas which make businesses work.”

Lt Gen. (Retd) Baldev Singh, President, R Systems International Ltd, emphasized upon the enduring legacy of industry-academia interface which he said dates back to the time of Chanakya who wrote the art of warfare and shared it with the maharajas and bureaucrats of the time.  Looking to the present, he said, “It is our endeavour to make the current collaboration a fruitful one so that it becomes a pace setter for others to emulate the model.”
