Expert Talk on “Career Opportunities for Electronics Engineers in Semiconductor Domain”

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies organized an expert talk on “CAREER OPPORUNITIES FOR ELECTRONIC ENGINEERS IN SEMICONDUCTOR DOMAIN, on 24^th  March, 2023. The expert invited for the Interaction was Mr. Harshit Tiwari, CEO Nanodroits Technologies Pvt Ltd.  A total of 50 participants from different years joined the Session.

The main objective of this expert talk is that students have to know about the job opportunities in VLSI Design/Embedded systems domain and get to know entry level positions and skill set requirements for these positions.

The expert talk was started by Mr. Harshit Tiwari by introduction of VLSI design. Then he briefed about Front end and Back-end design flow in FPGA &ASIC technology. The front-end flow is responsible to determine a solution for a given problem or opportunity and transform it into a RTL circuit description. Then, he talked about many opportunities are open for Electronics & Communication Engineers in VLSI Design &Embedded systems domain. He explained about different role/designations present for engineer in VLSI domain, they are RTL design engineer, FPGA design engineer, Verification design engineer, DFT engineer, etc. He also explained what are the core subject’s knowledge and skill sets required to join these professions. At the end, he has also discussed the current barriers faced by the ECE students to get a good job in the semiconductor industry and how to overcome these barriers.
