‘Digital Media Industry: Trends and Challenges

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, FMEH, organized alumni connect activity on January 25, 2023. The topic of the session was ‘Digital Media Industry: Trends and Challenges.’ It was attended by the 30 students of BA-JMC 4^th and 6^th semesters. The purpose of the interaction was to provide insights into the digital media industry in the current scenario. Students were excited to connect with our alumnus Ms. Mitali Sharma who currently works at Times Internet as the Senior Officer, Editorial Operations. She has been previously associated with ‘Alibaba’ and ‘NDTV’.

Ms. Sharma shared her academic and professional experiences so far. She emphasized on the importance of classroom learning and internships. She discussed the trends in the digital media industry with budding journalists. Students were excited to interact with her. They received guidance from Mitali on how to overcome obstacles and become better journalists. She further discussed the career opportunities in the digital media industry today.

Overall, it was an enriching experience for the students. The session was attended by 30 students from BA-JMC 4^th and 6^th semesters. The activity was coordinated by Ms. Ankita Bharti under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Maithili Ganjoo (Dean, FMeH) and Dr. Kiran Bala (HoD, Dept. Of J&MC).
