Criteria for Preparation of Merit list Merit preparation / short listing of candidates shall be on the basis of score in MRNAT 2024/ Marks in Qualifying Examination
Eligibility Criteria Pass in 10+2 Examination / Equivalent Examination  with at least 45% marks in aggregate in 5 subjects including English as a compulsory subject along with 4  subjects with the highest score out of the remaining subjects

# As per NEP 2020, the student admitted in 4-year UG Hons. / Hons. with Research programmes shall have the option to exit after 3 years with award of normal UG 3-year Degree by earning minimum required credits as specified in the curriculum of respective programme. A student pursuing 4-year UG Hons. Programme shall be required to have minimum 7.0 CGPA up to 3rd Year to get 4-Year UG Hons. with Research wherein S/he shall have to earn minimum 12 credits for dissertation / Research in 4th Year of UG programme. 

# # As per NEP 2020, the student admitted in 2-Year PG programme shall have the option to exit after 1-Year with award of PG Diploma by earning minimum required credits as specified in the curriculum of respective programme.

A student with 4-year UG Hons. / Hons. with Research can seek admission directly in 2nd Year of PG programme with additional Bridge Course wherever required.

* Under Elective Courses, beside the mentioned Domain Specific Elective Courses, other Inter-disciplinary, Generic, on-line Courses (MOOCs etc) and other approved courses shall be offered, which shall be notified well before start of the semester. The student shall be required and allowed to opt the courses out of offered courses as per maximum limit for maximum credits and for the category of Elective Courses under University Rules.
**For Successful completion of the degree, the students need to earn 98 credit of compulsory courses and at least 42 of Elective Courses
***The Students’ Project Work ‘Term Paper’ is a continuous course running through 4 different semesters. It is an audit pass course and the student need to submit the project in the final  (6th) Semester. He/she would be evaluated internally by the faculty assigned to supervise his/her work.

Placement Opportunities

The students have placement opportunities in the various fields:

Academics: Teaching in various organizations, private and government universities, and colleges, as language and literature teachers, translators, going for higher research.

Literary Sphere: Writing books, Poetry, prose, writing as free lancers, translators, literary critics and reviewing.

Editor: Editing job in newspapers, magazines, in various publications divisions.

Electronic Media: As a script writer (in TV serials, in stage plays, in Radio program, editing and preparing materials for various programs like Documentaries and films.

Print Media: As news readers, copy editors, writing stories and preparing materials for news papers and magazines.

Writers: Writing books for organizations like NCERT, SCERT, CBT, for schools and colleges.

Trainers: Training the students and teachers for English language proficiency in various institutions and organizations like District Institute of Education and Training, jobs as trainers in various TV channels like Google.
