Dr. Ruchi Das

Professor, Department of Mathematics

She received her M.Sc. Mathematics, University of Allahabad, Allahabad in 1988. She received her PhD degree in Mathematics from  The MS University of Baroda, Vadodara in 1996. She was Post Doctoral Fellow (2000-2001) Greek Govt Scholarship at Department of Mathematics, University of Athens, Greece.

She has served as Lecturer, Reader, Associate Professor and Professor at the Department of Mathematics, The MS University of Baroda during 1996 – 2014. Currently serving as Professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi.

Dr. Das  has more than 40 years of teaching and research experience. She has guided 6 Ph.D. scholars and 3 M.Phil. scholars. She is a member of Ramanujan Mathematical Society, Indian Mathematical Society, Indian Science Congress Association, Gujarat Ganit Mandal, Bombay Mathematical Society. Her research interest includes Dynamical Systems, Topology, Analysis. She has published more than 48 international research papers in reputed  journals.

She has received UGC Major Research Project entitled “On dynamical properties and chaotic behavior of maps”, Faculty Level Award at Faculty of Science, The MS University of Baroda, for publishing research paper in Mathematics with highest impact factor, 2012 , Short- term visitor, Mathematics Department, CNU, South Korea in 2007 ,  Greek Govt Scholarship at Department of Mathematics, University of Athens, Greece (2000-2001) ,  Selected for Indo-Russian Scholarship for Post Doctoral Work in 1999 , UGC JRF and SRF for carrying out Doctoral Work.

Dr. Kumkum Dewan is a former Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, India. She received her B.A. (H). in Science and M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Delhi, India, in 1969 and 1971 respectively. She received her PhD degree in Mathematics from the IIT , Delhi in 1980 .

Dr. Dewan is a committed teacher and has been in the teaching profession (1972-till date) and held responsible positions of Vice Chancellor of Noida International University (2015-till date); Acting Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia University (2014-2015); Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences (2005-2008); Professor and Head, Deptt. of Mathematics (2000-2003); Head, Deptt. of Computer Science (2007); Associate Professor in Deptt. of Mathematics (1985-1993); Assistant Professor of Mathematics (1972-1985), Jamia Millia Islamia University and Visiting Assistant Professor at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada (1986-1987).

An esteemed Mathematician and educator, Dr. Dewan was awarded the prestigious Fellowship and awards both at national and international forums like Best Citizen of India Award (1999) by United Childrens’ Movement and Secular Harmony Award (1999) by International Publishing House, International Women of the Year 1997/98 by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England; International Woman of the year (2011) by American Biographical Institute, USA for outstanding pursuits and achievements in the field of education; Outstanding People of Twentieth Century IBC, Cambridge, England; Chosen for Best Women Personalities Award (2011) by Friendship Forum of India; In 2016 she was given the LifeTime Achievement Award by Indian Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics(ISIAM); Recognized and felicitated by Jamia Millia Islamia University for her contribution to the growth of the University (2016); Basic Science Research (BSR) Faculty Fellowship Award (2015-2018) by University Grants Commission, Govt. of India.

She is a member Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics, New York Academy of Sciences, Indian Mathematics Society, Indian Society Industrial and Applied Mathematics , International Center for Theoretical Physics, Association Women in Mathematics, Academy Forum, Society for Special Functions and Applications , Vijnana Parishad of Indian.

Dr. Khalil Ahmad received his M.Sc. (Mathematics) from Kanpur University in 1970, M.Phil. (Pure Mathematics) from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 1976 and Ph.D. from University of Delhi in 1982.

He has held positions as Professor in Al-Falah University, Faridabad 2014 to till date. Professor Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi 1994 to 2014, Professor Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan 1998 to 1999, Reader Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi 1983 to 1994, Lecturer Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi 1975 to 1983 , Lecturer Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh 1972 to 1973 , Lecturer D.A.V. Dr. Khalil Ahmad has more than 50 years of teaching and research experience. He is a member of Indian Mathematical Society – Life Member, Indian Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics – Founder Member, Jammu Mathematical Society – Life Member, Gwalior Academy of Mathematical Sciences – Life

His field of Specialization is Functional Analysis and Applicable Mathematics. The precise topics of his research are: Theory of Bases and Decompositions of Banach Spaces , Best Approximations in Banach Spaces, Variational Inequalities, Complementarity Problems, Wavelet Analysis and Applications.

He has published more than 49 international research papers in reputed journals and has also published 15 books. He has guided 14 research scholars and has received various grants from the University Grants Commission, India for research work.
