Prof. Anita Rastogi

Brief Profile: Dr. Anita Rastogi is a Professor in the Department of Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia since 2009. Prior to joining Jamia Millia Islamia in 1995, she had served as Lecturer in Directorate of Distance Education, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (Haryana), and in District Institute of Education and Training, Delhi till 1995 and thus has the rich experience of working in Central, State and District level teacher education Institutions. She holds a Doctorate Degree in the area of ‘Teacher Education and Distance Education and a Masters Degree in Bio-Sciences and Education both with I class. She was conferred University Medal in M.Ed. by the University of Delhi for being the best candidate in the University in M.Ed. (full time) Examination for the year 1984- 85. She was also awarded for her meritorious and distinguished services in the field of teacher education by the Indian Association of Teacher Educators in 2014 and was selected for Bharat Vikas Award by the Institute of Self Reliance, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. 

She served as Head of the Department for three years and as Project Head of School of Education granted by MHRD, GOI under Pandit Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching. She has been the Co-ordinator of DRSII-SAP granted by UGC in the area of Teacher Education, Policy Perspectives, and Management. She was also appointed as Nodal Officer by the University for All India Survey of Higher Education and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, an initiative of MHRD.

She has rich experience of working in the area of Teacher Education (Elementary, Secondary, Preparation of Teacher Educators, Continuous Professional Development of Teachers) in both face-to-face and distance mode. Over the years she has been teaching courses namely Teacher Education, Research Methodology, Elementary Teacher Education, Elementary Education in India, Pedagogy of Science, etc to the graduate/post-graduate students of Education/ M.Phil/Ph.D. scholars and guiding research at M.Ed, M.Phil. and Ph.D. level. Many Ph.D. scholars have been awarded degree under her supervision in the area of teacher education with the focus on Evaluation of INSET, Constructivist approach to teaching-learning in PSTE, Reflective Writing by student teachers, School Experience Programme, Evaluation Competencies of student teachers, Co-operative Learning Strategies, Mobile learning, Quality Assurance, etc. She is keenly interested in the area of ICT-Pedagogy Integration and has contributed in the area of development of e-Content in Teacher Education and identification of determinants of ICT-pedagogy Integration. As an active researcher, she has herself undertaken the UNICEF-funded project on ‘Evaluation of DIETs of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh’ in the capacity of Asstt. Project Director. She has been the Chief Editor of Prestigious Journal ‘Teacher Education’ brought out by IATE. 

She has published Research Papers/ Articles in reputed National and International Journals and has also contributed to the development of Self Instructional Material published by IGNOU and Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak as writer/editor and reading material on e-content developed by UGC-CEC.

She has been instrumental in designing and introducing M.Ed. (Elementary Education) Programme, an innovative programme in the area of Teacher Education, offered by the Department of Educational Studies, JMI from 1997 till 2015. She led the team in designing the 2-year curriculum of M.Ed. Programme, in pursuance of NCFTE-2009, offered by the Department and coordinated its development. She was also a member of the Curriculum Development Committee constituted by NCTE and NCERT for the development of Model Curriculum of B.Ed Programme and MEd respectively. As a member of the Expert Committee, she contributed to the development of programme Continuous Professional Development of Primary Teachers of Kendriya Vidyalayas launched by IGNOU and M.Ed. Programme launched by MDU, Rohtak through Distance Mode. Prof. Rastogi has served as a member of prestigious committees constituted by NCERT, NIEPA, UGC, CEC-UGC, IGNOU, SCERT, DIETs, UEEMission Delhi, Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, etc besides being the member of Faculty Committees, BOS, School Advisory Committee, Research committees, Selection Committees, etc of various Universities. She was also a member of the Joint Review Mission for the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Teacher Education ( CSSTE) constituted by MHRD, GOI held from 17th to 24th August 2016. She was appointed as Visitor’s Nominee for Selection Committees of a Central University. 

She has organized many Seminars, Workshops, and Expert Meets at the national level like the National Workshop for the Review of UNESCO Document entitled ‘Teacher Education in India- Status and Trends’ and Consultation Meet on NCERT’s National Curriculum Framework for School Education-2005. At present, she holds the position of Sr. Vice-President of the Indian Association of Teacher Educators, which is an academic, representative body of over 2000 teacher educators. With her keen desire to share her ideas about various aspects of esp. teacher education and school education with the teacher fraternity she has presented papers, chaired sessions, delivered keynote addresses, valedictory addresses, and extension lectures in many seminars and conferences organized in various states of India and has given her expertise as expert/ resource person in various workshops organized by National level bodies. She also got the opportunity to chair a session and present a research paper at an International Conference held in Austin, Texas (USA). She also voiced her opinion in the National/ State level consultation meets organized by MHRD/UGC/ IGNOU / NCERT in connection with New Education Policy and the Central University of Teacher Education.

Prof. Sangeeta Chauhan

Brief Profile: Prof. Sangeeta Chauhan, M.A. (English), M.Ed., M.Phil, Ph.D from Department of Education (CIE), University of Delhi , has teaching and research experience spread over 36years. she started the M.Ed programme in the campus and thus came the university school of Education which is now flourishing with PhD. B.Ed in 25 affiliated Institutes B.Ed special Education and a course in Guidance and Counseling. she organized Professional Development Workshops for B.Ed Teacher Educators of affiliated institutions and workshops for the Principals of the B.Ed colleges.International and national seminars She has taught Educational Psychology, Methods Of Teaching English, Special Education at B.Ed level. She taught Philosophy, Psychology and History of Education both at graduate and B.El.Ed. level at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College between 1992 and 1999. Simultaneously she took guest lectures regularly at Aditi Mahavidyalya, Delhi University between 1996 and 1998.. She was a Junior and then Senior Research Fellow from 1987 to 1991 (University Grants Commission). During that period she edited and co-edited Ph.D and M.Phil abstracts for CIE and Delhi University .

She is a life member of Indian Association of Teacher Educators and All India Association for Educational Research . She has 5 Research Scholars pursuing Ph.D under her supervision. She also has one Scholar pursuing Post Doctoral Research under her for a UGC sponsored project. She was awarded Gold Medal for her work by the Ministry of Education.

Prof. Dasyam. Venkateshwarlu

Brief Profile: Prof. DasyamVenkateshwarlu has served conventional universities for more than 15 years and joined IGNOU in the year 2011. He holds a master’s degree in Science and Education. From the master’s degree in Education, he is working with Children with Special Needs (CWSN). He worked with children with Intellectual Disability for his M. Phil Degree, Centre of Advanced Studies in Education, M.S University of Baroda, and Mathematical Learning Difficulties for his Ph.D. Degree, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. He secured the second rank in M.Ed., RIE, NCERT, University of Mysore, and qualified UGC (NET). His areas of interest are Special Education, Inclusive Education, and Teaching-Learning Process. 

He is a Certified Rehabilitation Professional as well as an Expert Member, Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi. He is associated with NAAC, Bengaluru as Assessor, NIOS, Noida as Member Academic Council, NIEPID, Secunderabad as Expert Member Academic Committee, NIEPA, New Delhi as Member Advisory Committee, Department of School and Non-Formal Education and Shaala Siddhi, and Member, BOS Department of Teacher Training and Non-Formal Education, Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

He has published one book, one sourcebook, 16 chapters in books, and 37 journals/article publications. He has supervised Nine Ph.D. research scholars.

He is presently coordinator of the programme Post Graduate Certificate in Information and Assistive Technologies for the Instructors of Visually Impaired (PGCIATIVI) and course coordinator of two courses of B.Ed. programme.

Prof. Indira Dhull

Brief Profile: Prof. Indira Dhull has served conventional universities for more than 22 years. She holds a Ph.D. and master’s degree in English  as well as in Education. She has done Post-Doctoral Research from Institute of Education. University of London, UK. She has served as Head of the department and Dean Faculty of Education MDU Rohtak.

She has published three books and thirty-five research papers and guided 23 Ph.D. Students as well as 105 M.Phill. students so far. She has been awarded Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship (1995-96), Institute of Education, University of London, London (UK).

She has specialization in Philosophy & Sociology; Inclusive Education; Educational Research &Stactics; Educational Measurement & Evaluation; Pedagogy of Social Science & Economics. She has also served as a Principal Hindu College of Education, Sonipat.

She has published twenty-one books; thirty-two research papers &articals; five university notes; two book reviews and guided 14 Ph.D. Students as well as 150 M.Ed students so far.
